The first step is ‘Project Evaluation’ to asses the specific needs and goals for your unique project. The function of the space is analyzed along with any special requirements. Your style is identified and a budgetary figure is established for your project.
‘Conceptual Design’ follows with a preliminary space plan with traffic flow patterns. As a team we begin to formulate a plan for your vision to take shape.
‘Schematic Design’ follows with scaled drawings developed from the Concept Plan including floor plans, elevations, section drawings and sketches. Preliminary construction estimating and budgeting can also be incorporated into this phase if desired. You will review the drawings created and approve or make recommendations for revisions.
Next, the ‘Design Development’ phase delineates the details for millwork, wall, flooring, and window treatments. Furniture, fixtures and fabrics are incorporated into the design of your interior in this stage. Furnishing examples and surface and fabric samples are gathered. Custom furniture drawings are created if required. Field trips to vendors for selections are typically made at this stage.
A ‘Final Presentation’ is prepared with specification lists with budgetary numbers and alternate choices. At this point you will confirm the design, make any replacement choices and approve the budget. Upon approval, a timeline is created to implement the project.
During the ‘Project Management’ phase my firm will coordinate all purchases, and deliveries around your schedule and follow up on all orders, coordinate and oversee installation of millwork, flooring, wall treatments, specialty fixtures and window treatment and all remaining merchandise deliveries. Upon completion of your project, you will evaluate your project results. Your complete satisfaction is my goal as my business relies on satisfied clients and referrals!

The same can be said of our interior spaces.
A University of Arizona graduate, I have over 25 years of practical experience in the field of architecture and interior design. I am the daughter of German immigrants and learned from a very early age how to shape and form space.
My father was a furniture maker who expanded his trade into fine homebuilding. My elder brother brought back an ancient building form, earth building, to Arizona in the 1970’s when people were searching for ways to be energy efficient and ‘green.’ I assisted in the design of these buildings which utilized massive walls and passive solar gain techniques for eco-friendly interiors.
A strong interior architectural background enables me to modify space to elevate the function and increase one’s visual delight within the space.
My commercial design background spans the gamut of working with model prisoners for a medium correctional training facility to facilitating consensus among a large group of parish advisors in the liturgical design of a religious campus.
In residential design, I find myself often specializing in the design of kitchens, baths, theaters, studies and other areas where fine woodworking plays a key role.
I am nationally certified in interior design for commercial and residential projects and am passionate about creating and renovating spaces to help the inhabitants realize the ultimate experience for whatever the function of the space may be.
I am a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers, a member of the National Kitchen and Bath Industry and have been certified by the National Certification for Interior Design Qualification.
At your convenience, I will schedule a preliminary consultation with you. For existing interior design renovations we meet in your space, and for new construction, we meet at the site. I listen to your ideas and take detailed notes. From there I analyze with you the opportunities and challenges presented. I charge $125 per hour after the first hour which is complimentary.
We then meet again to review a Letter of Agreement to commence design services at which time a design retainer is collected. The design retainer launches your design project. The size of the retainer is based upon the scale and scope of your project. A design retainer can vary anywhere from $1,000 for a single room to $10,000 and for an entire residence or office building. The retainer purchases a block of time based upon my hourly rate.
I am open to accepting jobs of all sizes.
